About Eric Scher

Eric has devoted the majority of his career since graduating from law school to the representation of employers in workers' compensation litigation throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland. His clients include self-insured employers, insurance carriers and third party administrators and he works closely with his clients in all aspects of the workers' compensation process from the initial reporting of claims to the litigation of claims before workers' compensation judges to appeals before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board, the Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Eric has also represented claimants in workers’ compensation matters, defendants in civil general liability matters and has served as an arbitrator in Montgomery County.

In addition, Eric regularly consults with his claims representatives and employers on general workers' compensation issues and topics and has worked with employers to help establish reporting procedures and return to work programs. He has also addressed employer and insurer groups on workers' compensation issues and has written various newsletters for clients on "hot" topics and issues specific to an employer's line of work.

Eric received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in 1990 and his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1993. While in law school, Eric served as an Internal Editor for the school's law review, The Widener Journal of Public Law. Prior to opening his own firm in May of 2013, Eric was a partner and co-chair of the workers’ compensation practice group at a small boutique firm in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, Eric practiced with two large Philadelphia-based law firms and spent a short time as in-house counsel for an insurance carrier.
